The Children's Cloth of Many Colors began from a childs dream at our peace event at the Pentagon on 9/22/2000, where we dedicated a peace pole for the Pentagon Chapel.  The event took place in the conference room of the Secretary of the Army.  Seventy-five people were in attendance.  Army Chaplain Henry Haines gave the invocation for the event, and was the persistent shepherd who made the placement possible.  The peace pole stood in the Pentagon Chapel during the attacks of 9/ll.

On July 11, 2001, Brynn Stalvey presented the initial section of the Children’s Cloth of Many Colors to Congressman Dennis Kucinich as he initiated a congressional resolution for a Department of Peace.  The section was made by children from Brynn’s third grade at the Bonnie Brae School in Fairfax VA.  It hung in the office of Congressman Kucinich for a few years, as a symbol of children’s wishes for a peaceful world.
